Moisand appointed President-elect of the Financial Planning Board
The Board of Directors of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. recently announced the election of a Certified Financial Planner Daniel Moisand as elected president.
Moisand is a director and financial advisor at Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo LLC, headquartered in Suntree, and has over three decades of financial planning and investing experience.
Moisand has a long list of contributions to the PCP Board of Directors, including:
From 1999-2001, he served on the Standards of Practice Council of the CFP Board of Directors, helping to draft and promulgate the first financial planning standards of practice for CFP professionals.
In 2008, he served as Chairman of the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission of the CFP Board of Directors, reviewing and taking appropriate action regarding alleged violations of standards of ethics and practice for CFP professionals.
Since 2020, he has served on the Board of Directors of the CFP Board and is currently Chairman of the Code and Standards Compliance Committee of the CFP Board.

“I am honored to have been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors by my colleagues on the Board of Directors,” said Moisand. “CFP certification is the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning. I look forward to working with other Board members to continue raising the bar for the profession, while promoting CFP certification and access to CFP professionals, for the public good.
Moisand is a past national president and president of the Financial Planning Association and was a director of the Foundation for Financial Planning from 2014 to 2019.
He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University.
He has been a professional CFP since 1994.
Gonzales promoted to general manager of restaurant Viera
Mercy Gonzales has been promoted to General Manager of 28 North Gastropub in Viera.
Gonzales started at the gastropub in October 2019 as a second part-time job.
In February, prior to her recent promotion to CEO, Gonzales was appointed Deputy Director.
Gonzales’ favorite cuisine is authentic Mexican cuisine, especially the food she used to eat in Texas and New Mexico, like chopped green chili, carne asada, green chili enchiladas, sopapillas. and homemade tortillas.

Crawford joins Dean Mead law firm in Viera
Joseph crawford recently joined the Viera office of law firm Dean Mean.
Most recently, Crawford was with Smith, Gambrell & Russell LLP in Jacksonville, one of the largest law firms in the United States, by revenue.
Crawford was a partner in the litigation practice of this firm.
Crawford received his BA in Political Science from the University of Central Florida and his Law Degree from Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, where he graduated with Distinction.
